Apple WeatherKit returns hyper-local conditions for any lat/long. Bield queries it at the moment a hunt, trip, or log entry is created so the conditions get stamped automatically — no manual entry, no rounding, no guessing later.

Why we self-host
WeatherKit is the one non-federal source in our stack — we use it specifically for the auto-capture step because federal NOAA stations don't have the spatial density to deliver a clean per-event reading at every coordinate in the US. The conditions then live in your account, not Apple's.
