Inshore migration calendar

Virginia Coast & Eastern Shore migration calendar.

  • Mid-Atlantic
  • Virginia
  • 6 species tracked

The Virginia barrier islands offer one of the most productive shallow-water fisheries on the Atlantic — extensive grass flats, salt marsh creeks, and inlet structure. Spring black drum and red drum runs at the inlets, fall bull red schools, and a year-round speckled trout fishery in the marsh creeks.

Verify with the agency before fishing

Fishing regulations change every season. This page is a summary maintained by Bield — bag limits, exact dates, and species-specific rules must be verified with Virginia Marine Resources Commission before each trip.
