Late Season & Post-Rut
Some late-season scrape activity occurs as the second rut window arrives in early-to-mid December (28 days after peak rut), but it's much smaller than pre-rut activity. Scrapes don't drive late-season hunting the way food sources do — focus on food plots, standing crops, and browse zones rather than scrape lines.
If your area has notable second-rut activity, scrape lines on travel corridors near doe wintering areas can produce a brief flash of cruising buck activity. Otherwise, late-season strategy is food-driven.
