How do I manage Japanese beetles on my farm?
Hand-pick early in the morning when beetles are sluggish, drop into soapy water. Pheromone traps attract MORE beetles to your area — avoid them. Milky spore disease (long-term grub control), beneficial nematodes, and chemical insecticides for severe cases. Diverse plantings and row cover protection on high-value crops also help.
