Corn Production
What is corn relative maturity and how do I choose the right RM?
Relative Maturity (RM) is the number of days from planting to physiological maturity for a corn hybrid. Match RM to your growing season length: subtract 10-15 days from your average frost-free days to get target RM. Northern Iowa runs 95-105 RM; Central Illinois 105-115; the Deep South 115-125+. Variety review pages cover regional RM recommendations.
