Q.Soybean Production

When are soybeans ready to harvest?

A.

Soybeans are ready when most pods are brown/tan, leaves have dropped, and grain moisture is 13-15%. Harvest at 13% for elevator delivery; 15% if drying is available. Below 11% moisture, harvest losses from shattering increase. Test moisture daily through harvest — it can drop fast in dry weather.
