Small plots (under 1/2 acre) work as kill plots — concentrated draw points where deer are funnel into a stand setup. They're vulnerable to overgrazing and weed pressure, so they're best for short-window species like brassicas or oats.
Larger plots (1-3 acres) can support multi-year perennials like clover and survive heavy browse pressure. A property with one large clover plot and several small kill plots in different cover types covers more hunting situations than a single big plot.
