Q.Farm Pond Fishing

What is the right balance of bass to bluegill in a farm pond?

A.

Roughly 1 bass for every 10 bluegill (by number) is the target ratio for a balanced pond. Too many bass and they overpopulate, stunt, and outcompete bluegill. Too few bass and bluegill overpopulate, becoming small and stunted. Adjust by selective harvest — remove small bass if bass are overpopulated; remove bluegill if bluegill are overpopulated.

Pair with farm-side pond water quality content.
