Georgia · Whitetail rut
Whitetail rut dates in Georgia.
Georgia's rut runs late October in the south to mid-November in the mountains — a 3-week spread depending on where you hunt.
Georgia's rut variation is driven by both photoperiod and the state's complex restoration history. Southern Georgia bucks generally peak in late October to early November, while mountain counties run later. The Atlanta-area Piedmont sits between those two windows. The state's well-established trophy genetics in the central and northern regions also tend to produce a more compressed peak than the south.
