Sheep & Goats
How much land do I need for sheep?
Stocking rate guidance: 6-10 sheep per acre on quality pasture (Mid-Atlantic, Southeast); 4-6 per acre on average pasture; 2-3 per acre on dry/marginal pasture. Lambs and ewes count slightly differently. Pull a stocking rate from your county extension service for accurate planning.
