Q.Saltwater Species Behavior

What do speckled trout eat and where do I find them?

A.

Speckled trout eat shrimp, mullet, menhaden, croaker, and small finger mullet. They concentrate on grass flats, around oyster bars, in deeper holes adjacent to drains, and along channel-edge transitions. Topwater bites at dawn and dusk are reliable on grass flats during warm months.

Tide guide pages cover stage-by-stage timing; migration calendar pages cover seasonal availability.
