Q.Vegetable Gardening

Why are my tomatoes not setting fruit?

A.

Common causes: temperature outside 55-90°F range (blossom drop), excessive nitrogen (leafy growth, no fruit), inadequate pollination (low bee activity), and water stress (dry-wet cycles). Cool nights below 55°F or hot days above 90°F suppress fruit set. Once temperatures stabilize, fruit set resumes.

Tomato calendar pages cover timing to avoid temperature extremes.
